Subscriber
Notify your users when content changes matter to them!
The portal notification engine is like the postman, along with the important snail mail that we receive, we also receive an influx of not so important content.
Don’t blame the postman or the notification service; when we subscribe to content and receiver notifications of updates, the notification service triggers an alert but does not distinguish if the updates are significant or syntactical edits to the content.
Until we get an intelligent notification engine that distinguishes trivial from nontrivial, how about a tool that lets the content owners decide when a notification gets sent; along came Subscriber.
Subscriber delegates that decision to the individuals (the content owners/managers) who know what is trivial and nontrivial and decide when to send alerts to the content subscribers.
