A Quick Comment About Comments…

Function1, General by Brian Hak on March 19th, 2009 2 Comments

Howdy all.  It turns out that I may have been a little on the wrong side of correct for the past year that I’ve been telling people Function1 is perfect.  Shockingly, it turns out we’re not:

Uncommonly good?  Yep.
Surprisingly refreshing?  Check.
Devilishly handsome?  You betcha’.
But perfect?  Sadly, no.

As I was toying around with our Movable Type installation tonight, I happened to notice that we had a huge backlog of un-published comments.  THE HORROR.  Here you are, a fine internet citizen, trying to make the most out of our blog by giving us feedback…and how do we repay you? With a loving embrace?  No, we just unintentionally told you to “talk to the hand”.  Rest assured, the lack of comment publishing was an accidental oversight, which I fixed this evening. I also noticed that new users were unable to self-register for accounts…this is fixed too.
A million apologies friends, please accept the following as a token of our appreciation:

On a slightly side note – I wanted to email you guys a suggestion about a topic for a blog post, but when I went to the “Contact Us” section of the site I couldn’t find an email address. Just your phone and snail-mail address!

Why would anybody want to contact us via. e-mail when they could hand-write a letter, address it, spend 40-something cents on a stamp, and then wait 3-5 days for it to be delivered to an office where we may or may not see it? I’m just not sure that I see the benefits of this new-fangled “electronic” mail.
Good catch Geoff, thanks. I updated the contact page with our “info at function1 dot com” address. I also created “blog at function1 dot com”. Feel free to drop a line to the blog address or just post a comment with any feedback on the blog…it’s great to hear from people.
